How much does a business website cost?

What a landing page, a corporate website and an online store cost, what pushes the budget up or down, and how to ask for a price that won’t change halfway through.

It’s almost always the first question we’re asked, and the honest answer starts with “it depends”. But “it depends” doesn’t help anyone decide, so here’s what really changes the price of a website, along with our starting prices, so you have a clear reference.

Nuvoling starting prices

Type of website What it’s for Price
Landing page Launching a product or campaign, or testing an idea €1,690
Corporate website Your company’s full website from €3,490
Online store Selling products or services online from €4,390
Redesign and migration Renewing an existing site without losing rankings from €2,590

We agree the final price in writing after a free call, and that price doesn’t change. You can see the details of each option on the pricing page.

What makes a website cost more or less

The number of pages and what each one says. A five-page website doesn’t cost the same as a thirty-page one. But what’s inside matters more: a well-thought-out service page, with its structure and copy, takes more work than a page of running text.

Who writes the copy. If you already have the content, the work focuses on design and development. If you need us to write it —and make it work for Google— that’s another part of the project. It’s usually worth it: the copy is what convinces your customers.

Languages. In Catalonia it’s common to have a website in Spanish and Catalan, and sometimes English. Each language multiplies content and reviews, and the versions must be linked properly so Google shows the right one.

Features. A contact form is simple. A booking system, a private client area or a store with payments and shipping is another matter. The more moving parts a website has, the more work goes into it.

Integrations. Connecting the website to your CRM, invoicing software or calendar saves a lot of time later, but it has to be built and tested.

One-off cost and running costs

A website has a build cost and then some running costs that are worth knowing from the start:

  • Domain: your website’s address (for example, yourcompany.com). It’s renewed every year.
  • Hosting: the server where the website lives.
  • Maintenance: updates, security, backups and small changes. At Nuvoling, website maintenance plans start at €150 / month, with no lock-in.

You don’t have to buy any of this from whoever builds your website, but it is important that everything is in your name: the domain, the accounts and access to the site. If you ever change provider, you need to be able to take it all with you.

Template or custom website?

A template can work to get started if your budget is very tight. The problem comes later: designs that look like your competitors’, plugins that break when updated, and slow sites that are hard to rank.

A custom website is designed for your business and your customers, loads quickly and is easier to maintain. It’s not about spending more; it’s about every euro going into something that works for you.

How to get a quote that won’t change

Before asking for a price, have these answers ready. They’ll save you time and give you quotes you can compare:

  1. What you want the website to achieve: more enquiries, sales, being found on Google, a more professional image…
  2. Which pages you think you need and whether you already have the copy and photos.
  3. Languages it needs to be in.
  4. Special features: bookings, a store, a client area, integrations.
  5. When you need it by.

And when you receive the proposal, check that it includes the exact scope, timeline, total price and what happens if you need something new later.

Questions to ask any provider

  • Is the price fixed or can it change?
  • Who writes the copy and who sources the images?
  • Will I be able to edit the website myself?
  • Will the domain and accounts be in my name?
  • What does maintenance include and how much does it cost?
  • How do you make sure Google finds the website?

If you like, we’ll answer all of them on a free call and give you a fixed quote for your case.
